i have the worst flu ever

so the title of this post doesn’t lie, i do in fact have the worst flu ever. tuesday evening around 8 i started feeling a little nauseous, by 10 i didn’t think i was going to bed ever cause i was stuck in the bathroom. it was awful. i was going in cycles, 15 minutes in the bathroom then 30-40 minutes in bed dozing then back to the bathroom…i ended up going to the hospital around 7am because i started having these insane cramps. the doctor told me it was because my stomach was totally empty and convulsing. they gave me compazine, a couple bags of saline and a shot of morphine for the pain. i got home around 11ish and went to bed…for 24 hours. i’m just about ready to go back to bed now. i am just totally worn out. i’m not supposed to go back to work until monday so money wise i’m goin to be screwed…again.
i want to work on the craft swaps i’m in, but i don’t have the energy and i also don’t want to get any germs on anything i’m sending out.

since i haven’t been able to do anything crafty for the last few days here is a first year bag book i made for my friend tom’s son collin!

uncreative weekends are so boring

okay, so i didn’t do anything this weekend. to be fair my sundays are all the same. i go to my mom’s house, lurk the internets and watch football. but literally, i didn’t even go anywhere, other than my mom’s. not the way i wanted this new year to start but a person can’t change overnight. if they could, people would be like penguins and mate for life.

so i decided before i try to go to sleep i should at least post SOMETHING creative i’ve done in my life, so i went on to my craftster.org account and looked through my gallery. here are pages from a wedding planner i designed for my brother and sister in law. i gave it to them christmas 2007. it’s nothing fancy, but they loved it. so therefore i am proud of it.

tomorrow taylor, chris and ryan will be in town so i know there will be no crafting done. unfortunately there’s no way i can take off or get out of work early to spend time with them either, but i can’t complain too much, i’ll be seeing them in florida in a few weeks!

kind of a waste of a day

so i feel like i’ve wasted my saturday, because i’ve been in bed all day. i didn’t sleep well at all last night, which led to a gigantic headache. bummer. i planned to clean & craft all day, but mostly i’ve been reading craft blogs and lurking myspace. i did get up to shower, but i just put other pajamas on and got back in bed.

i had a few good conversations via text today so at least i wasn’t completely worthless today! hopefully, kristine’s ex boyfriend taylor is coming up on a spontaneous road trip with some friends tomorrow to go to ski roundtop and go snow tubing. i’m not going tubing, i hate the snow, but i’m inviting myself to hang out even though they’ll be staying with MY ex boyfriend jake. isn’t it sweet that our ex boyfriends love each other so much that taylor’s driving up from florida to play in the snow with jake?!

since i have no picture of anything worthwhile i’ve done today, here’s a picture of where i’d rather be:

craft swaps

okay so i hit up http://www.craftster.org and sent in info to join not one but TWO swaps! i haven’t done any swaps in months, i think since the beginning of summer actually, because i was just too busy. i signed up for the be my valentine altered altoid tin swap and also the valentine’s classroom card exchange. i’m pretty stoked on both. unfortunately tomorrow i’m going to have a metric shit ton of cleaning to do before i get started crafting.

it’s still the end…at least for today…

so happily i got out of work early today, and believe me, that $30 that i’ll be missing on my paycheck is worth the sanity. although there were like no kids, i just wasn’t okay to be there today. my stomach was super upset this morning, it was unbelievably hard waking up, and one of the kids with me drives me crazy.

one friday in august kristine texted, totally bummed out that she has no friends and wanted me to come visit. long story short she put the trip on her credit card and i was there around 11. i stayed for the weekend and it did us both a world of good. we need each other sometimes.

after august comes my favorite time of year, fall…not much happened this fall…just the normal my favorite time of year stuff, trick or treating and the like.

trick or treat is my favorite night of the year, by far. there’s nothing more fun than rounding up free candy with a bunch of cute kids i love more than anything!

sadly it was christian’s last year trick or treating, since jill & chris are cutting the kids off after their 12th birthdays. he whined a lot as well, because it was insanely hot in that mask and he couldn’t see. overall it wasn’t our best trick or treat night, but it was still fun!

there are a few things to talk about as far as 2008 goes, christmas and the 2 greatest days of the year, my brother’s wedding and the day his son was born. so let’s go with a couple christmas goodies and wrap this wrap up, up.

christmas this year was amazing as always. i love getting to spend time with jess, justin, mom, gary and grandma and then rushing to jill’s to be with her family. we went to my dad’s the saturday after christmas but i forgot my camera. it sucks cause that was the first time i met my cousin joe and his wife kristy (who was my best friend all through middle and high school)’s first child, kylie.  she is so bastardish and amazing. i am totally in love with her. i can’t believe i missed almost the first 3 years of her life. i refuse to ever go that long without seeing them again.

getting to hang out with kristy again, was one of the highlights of my year by far. i’m going to use money out of my tax return to book a weekend trip to st louis to go visit. her whole family is out there and i miss her sister dana so much. dana has a 5 year old son i’ve never met, and that seems even more unbelievable than never meeting kylie.

on to the 2 most important dates of 2008, my brother’s wedding and the birth of his son. get ready for a huge mess of pics!

the wedding was in may, sarah was already very pregnant. you can’t tell, she just looks like a normal sized person in these pictures. they were engaged for awhile and had the date set when she found out she was pregnant. sher due date was…well her doctor’s sucked and gave us like a billion different dates but one of them happened to be my mom’s birthday, which is august 27th, and damn if gage didn’t come that day! we waited and waited and waited for that kid, and when he finally came out and had to go to the nicu some of us (me) were ready to beat up nurses to get to him. once you see you’ll understand.

so that about sums up 2008. tomorrow i’ll move on to 2009, or to whatever else i decide to cover here. i know i want to document my projects this year…

after every end there’s a beginning.

so hello 2009, you came to me not the way i expected but hey that’s okay, i’ll forgive you…this time. i’ve decided that obnoxious text message i got this morning is NOT indicative of how this year will go. and i kissed someone at midnight, someone i love dearly! just because she is a 16 month old baby girl doesn’t mean it’s not good luck!
however, i DO refuse the good luck tradition of eating pork and that evil smelling sauerkraut every single person i know was cooking today. blech.
so there, everyone is our beginning–new years 2009…let’s get on with the ending of 2008!

just for my own self satisfaction (hey it’s MY blog) i’ve decided to wrap up 2008 with a few pictures and memories posted on the internet where it can never be forgotten. you can come along for the ride and get to know me a little better or you can choose to skip this and come back when i have something more relevant to say, i’m cool with whatever you decide.

me and andrew blowing out the candles

me and andrew blowing out the candles

that dreaded birthday was in january. a big group of people who i loved at the time went out to celebrate with me to the coliseum. my lovely half jap best friend kristine flew up from orlando to brave the cold and celebrate with me as well. sadly a large portion of the group in attendance has been cut out of my life due to pathetic high school behavior…others have just grown apart and i’m okay with that…here’s another shot from that night:

kristine, justin, jess, me, jill

i wish i had something to remind me of all the things i did this year, but i’m an ass and didn’t think to do this last year, or to keep a scrapbook for the year. oh! i thought of something i did! i taught myself to like country music! go ahead and laugh i’ll wait……………okay, ready to continue? it’s possible. i found that the songs about drinking, being drunk, the beach or summer in general are right up my alley! i had formed my opinion based on the “i lost my wife and she stole my truck that my dog was sleeping in” songs, which bum me out way too much. i LOVE country music now, at least some songs!

so this picture is from april, from when Jill (an aforementioned best friend) and her husband bought the daycare we work at from Jill’s partner. i won’t go into to detail but we are all a lot less stressed now without that partner there. she had no clue what she was getting into. (working for your best friend is amazing. it does have it’s downsides, but i highly recommend working with/for your best friend if possible) so we cheersed, we ate, we drank and we were beyond merry that night!

assateague island

assateague island

this is walking onto the beach at assateague island in mid may. it was windy and kinda chilly to be honest but the ocean is my happy place. the smell of the salt water and the feel of the breeze…it just does something to completely relax me and getting to go to the beach with Jill’s family and her brother’s family made it an amazing weekend. we did so much fun family stuff.  here, let me show you!

that was the best start to a summer i’ve had since the summer my sister and i flew to miami for a weekend to hang out with some friends. man, i miss cheap airfare. but i digress….so this summer…what happened…i worked…and i hung out, a lot. not as much as some years, but responsiblities seemed more important this year. go me, i’m growing up.

brad, me, brooke

brad, me, brooke

i feel like this picture sums up the summer nicely. i don’t even know what hurt brad’s head, maybe it was me? but brooke’s making a myspace face & i’m laughing…so that’s basically it. unfortuantely brad didn’t hang out as much as i would like, and brooke decided in august i was too mean and she was over me. it happens. i’ll survive. we still text occasionally…

around the campfire

around the campfire

this was how most of my weekends looked from, i’d guess april to june when it got too hot for fires. the adidas are MC’s, vans are brittany, saucony’s are me, and other vans are brooke. some of the best conversations of my adult life happened around that fire.

this picture, also not abnormal. who wants to be old, wrinkly and ugly?!

here it is, 10pm on New Years Day, and i have to wake up early for the first time in over a week to go to work, and i’m only at summer on this blog. I haven’t even gotten to the miracle of my first true nephew and not just “it’s easier to say nephew than this is the son of my best friend, and we spend so much time together it’s like we’re related anyway, blah blah blah” nephew. i didn’t get to my discovery of loving hats even with short hair. i didn’t get to how awful it felt to be broken up with jake for a full year…but i have to go to bed. i guess this post will have a part two. maybe tomorrow…maybe saturday. tomorrow after work i have date night with my mom, we’re watching as much of season one of dexter as we can…not because we’re in a rush, but because we just can’t get enough.
