turkey chili mmm mmm gooooood.

there’s a winter storm coming tomorrow, 2-6″ of snow and ice, and that’s just the first forecasts, so it could be more til it’s said and done. if i’m snowed in, instead of going to the punk rock flea market i’d rather go to, i may end up making this. if i do, i will definitely post pics, but that’s only if i get to the grocery store before it starts…which it may do overnight. boy you gotta love those weathermen, they know it all…eh?!


2 cans each:
black beans
chili beans
kidney beans

1lb ground turkey
1 large can of diced tomatoes
1 small can of tomato paste

one large onion–diced
chili powder
red pepper flakes
minced garlic

1) before i put the turkey in the pan i season it with salt, pepper and chili powder
2) brown the turkey with the diced onion and minced garlic
3) add all the cans of beans to your slow cooker, i drain ONE of each of the 2 cans of beans, leaving one can’s juices in the pot
4) add diced tomatoes and tomato paste to the slow cooker
5) add turkey, onions and garlic to the slow cooker and cook on high 4-6 hours, stirring occasionally
[season with oregano, chili powder, red pepper flakes, garlic, salt & pepper to taste]
